Fenty X Puma Is Back! Rihanna Dishes on Her New Sneaker Design
After a brief hiatus since 2017, Fenty X Puma, the celebrated collaboration between Puma and music sensation Rihanna, is back with a bang. Rihanna, who serves as the label’s creative director, has unveiled the latest addition to the Fenty x Puma lineup: the Avanti sneaker. Here is everything you need to know about this much-coveted drop.
From Sneaker Roots to the Avanti
Fenty X Puma made its debut in 2015 with sneakers, and it’s only fitting that the brand is making a comeback in the world of footwear. The label first gained attention with its iconic Creeper style and later introduced other successful shoe designs, like faux-fur slide sandals and the distinctive bowed sneakers.
The release of the Avanti shows an epic return to the brand’s sneaker roots after it expanded into apparel and made waves at New York Fashion Week. The Avanti sneakers will be available across the globe on Puma.com starting September 15th. But, that’s not all! A second Avanti drop is scheduled for later in the fall, and Fenty x Puma has even more exciting product launches in the pipeline.
The Avanti: A Fusion of Styles
The Avanti sneaker, priced at $160, seamlessly blends elements of Puma’s King football boot with the Easy Rider running shoe. Rihanna shared her excitement about delving into Puma’s rich archives, paying tribute to the iconic Avanti. The King, famously worn by Brazilian football legend Pelé, gets a contemporary twist under Rihanna’s creative direction.
The Avanti features a foldable tongue and a stylish gum sole. The shoes are available in classic black and white or a striking silver. The Avanti sneakers are also available in children’s sizes, with prices set at $95 for preschool sizes and $80 for infants. Rihanna’s desire to see her boys in matching styles with their parents adds a personal touch to the collection.
